Be-Ver Farms is a 16,000-acre grain farming operation near Sedley, Saskatchewan. During harvest 2025, the Duck Foot Parts team was asked to come out and demonstrate how our patented paddle tines could improve Be-Ver Farms’ harvest outcomes. Doing a side-by-side test with two combines – one with Duck Foot paddle tines, and one without – accompanied by laying out drop pans, they found that adding Duck Foot tines reduced header losses significantly.
“Our biggest surprise with the duck feet was header loss. I don’t think overall we understood how much we were actually losing until it was shown to us, but I think that was the biggest showcase.” – Ben Cavers, Be-Ver Farms
When South Country Equipment suggested Be-Ver try Duck Foot tines, Ben admits he was on the fence about whether they would commit to getting a set or not. After seeing the difference a set of Duck Foot tines made during the in-field demo, he realized they were losing a lot more crop than they’d thought. He shared that they saw a significant improvement in crop loss in their pulses, as well as improved feeing in cereals and canola. Having the Duck Foot Parts team take the time to come to their farm and showcase the benefits that the paddle tines can make, plus seeing just how easy they are to install – Ben and his crew all knew right away that these would make a major difference in their harvest.
